Prince Harry’s seating arrangements for the service of thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral showed his dwindling importance.
Prince Harry’s Platinum Jubilee Seating Arrangements Showed His Fall From Grace-‘Painful To Watch’
That is according to royal expert Richard Kay. Harry was notably seated opposite his brother Prince William, as the pair reportedly refused to make eye contact with each other.
Although sitting separately from each other was to be expected by virtue of the fact that Harry is no longer in the Royal family, the very fact of the matter is that this was of more significance.
By Harry being seated alongside the lesser influential members of the Royal family, this was something hard for him to take. In his comments, Richard said: “As non-working royals, they are now very much in the second division. It was a painful 19 minutes before William and Kate arrived to take their seats.”
It is understandable if Harry was feeling a little isolated, but that does not necessarily mean that he was left dejected by it. Much in the same way, the couple were seated alongside Princess Eugenie, who they historically have a good relationship with.
Not only that, but their personal feelings had to be put aside in order to show respect for Queen Elizabeth II who was the focus of attention. And yet, for Richard, he felt there was too much to suggest that Harry was unhappy.
He added: “If the reality of his new life had escaped Prince Harry thus far, it must surely have sunk in then.” The response from the fans on social media was mixed. A certain subset of people agreed that Harry would find it difficult to adjust to a lesser role.
Meanwhile, others felt that this was being blown out of proportion. One person wrote: “He use[d] to be so loved by family & country. Painful to watch. Had to remind self he’d brought it all upon himself dissing family & country & abusing titles.”
Did Harry bring this upon himself or is being treated unfairly? So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
