NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) Takes the High Road With Jack… Does This Prove She’s Not As Bad As Some Believe?

NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers reveal the relationship between Abigail Deveraux (Marci Miller) and Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) was bad, to say the least. And we can’t say Gwen doesn’t have her blame in this. However, we have always felt Gwen wasn’t as awful as Abigail thought. She proved that when Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) came to visit. Here’s what you need to know.

NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Not so innocent

First, ‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers reveal we’re going to have to go there a minute. Now, we’re not saying Abigail deserved the fate she suffered. Not even close. However, we do think all this “Abigail was an angel” stuff is a little off-base. Abigail could hold a grudge better than others in that town. And she sometimes went way too far with her hunches. Take the Gwen pregnancy thing.

Now, Abigail obviously had reason to be angry at Gwen for seducing Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn). Especially after the other things she did. However, we do think busting Gwen on her miscarriage lie was a bit out of line. Sure, Abigail had to deal with the guilt of thinking she killed Gwen’s baby.

However, Abigail was also overly hateful with how she handled Gwen that day. And she was the one that decided to go after a pregnant woman on the stairs. Or, at least a woman she thought was pregnant. She could have realized her part in that particular mess and let it go. Especially when Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) was looking so happy about having Gwen in his life.

Then there was the wedding. Actually, we’re going to blame everyone here. Sure, Gwen did horrible things and it was only right that Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) knew the truth. Not to mention the other parties in that failed double wedding. However, Abigail seemed to take far too much glee in publicly exposing Gwen at the last minute. Did Gwen deserve to pay for what she did to Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey)? Sure.

But did Xander deserve to have his heart ripped out in front of an audience while certain parties took much glee in watching the guilty parties’ downfalls? No. It could have been handled in a better way, but Abigail didn’t think beyond her own desire to hurt Gwen. So, Abigail could definitely be petty and downright thoughtless in certain situations.

NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Class move

On the other hand, we do have to give Gwen a bit of credit for how she handled the visit with Jack. When the subject of his destroyed gift came up, she could’ve blamed Abigail, although softened the details for sensitivity. Instead, she took full blame for dropping the mug herself.

It was like she’d already done so much damage to Jack, she didn’t want to speak badly of his dead daughter and hurt him worse. And we do actually think she’s hurt herself, despite her anger at Abigail. So, we liked that she took the high road on that.

NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Problems ahead?

Despite Gwen showing a kind side to herself, we do think she’s headed for trouble. ‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers indicate that she gave the second dose of that drug to Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey). If the theory Sarah did it while suffering a delusion is true, then Gwen would technically be the most responsible for Abigail’s murder.

And that’s something Jack won’t forgive. Especially if he learns Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) was in the mansion and stole Abigail’s stuff. And when/if that is proven the case, we do think Gwen will take that hard and accept her blame.
