Kanye West has blasted Adidas CEO Kasper Rorstad for putting out what he deemed to be ‘fake Yeezys.’

Kanye, for his part, is a long-term admirer of Adidas after having collaborated with them for around a decade. However, it appears that their latest venture has rubbed him up the wrong way.

Adidas has decided to release their new Adilette slides, which are expected to sell for around  $55. In the pictures here, we can see that there is a similarity in design when we compare the Yeezy to the Adilette.

And given that Kanye’s Yeezy brand has contributed immensely to his billionaire status, he was not happy by what he deemed to be someone ripping off his ideas. In a post to his fans on Instagram, he said: “These shoes represent the disrespect that people in power have to the talent.

“This shoe is a fake Yeezy made by Adidas themselves I’m not talking to DC about this either Kasper come talk to me. Happy Monday.” These comments are bound to have an impact on the working relationship between Kanye and Adidas.

After all, when Kanye made controversial comments in 2018 in which he stated that slavery was a choice, Kasper was one of the few people who came out to publicly support him.

Therefore, the last thing that Kasper would expect to see is Kanye directing shots at him. In Kasper’s comments at the time, he remarked: “Kanye has been and is a very important part of our strategy and has been a fantastic creator, and that’s where I’m going to leave it. I’m not going to comment.”

This may explain why Kasper hasn’t responded to Kanye’s comments, but if Kanye does decide to distance himself from the company, then who knows what impact that could have on Adidas’ attempts to follow the Yeezy.

Time will tell how it all plays out. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below. If you liked reading this article, then check out our other features on the Daily Soap Dish.
