J.K. Rowling Pranked By Russian Pretending To Be Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky-Asked Her If Dumbledore Was Gay?
The author of the Harry Potter books, just so happened to be on a zoom call with whom she believed was the Ukrainian President. But in reality, it turned out to be a comedian from the comedy duo Vovan and Lexus.
And Rowling became the latest victim when she happened to be discussing her plans on conducting charity work in Ukraine. In the clip here, we can see that the author is having a conversation. The person on the other end has their zoom camera off, but continues to participate.
In doing so, several topics were mentioned including Ukrainian soldiers allegedly writing the words ‘Avada Kedavra,’ on their missiles to which Rowling apparently replied: “I love the joke.”
Just when you thought that was bad enough, Rowling was then asked about the sexuality of her character Dumbledore in the Harry Potter series. When asked if he was gay, Rowling replied with the following: “I said in 2007…that I always saw Dumbledore as gay. That’s the truth.”
After having clearly been humiliated, Rowling’s team have come out to distance themselves from the controversy. In an official statement given on behalf of Rowling, a spokesperson stated the following: “The video, which has been edited, is a distorted representation of the conversation.”
Nevertheless, the damage had already been done. And the comments on social media were reflective of that, as they were brutal indeed. One person wrote: “SHE HAS FALLEN SO FU****G HARD AND IT HURTS ME BUT I WILL FOREVER STAN HARRY POTTER.”
It is safe to say that this was not Rowling’s finest moment. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
