Amber Heard says she stands by every word she said during her defamation trial with her ex-husband Johnny Depp. She calls her words, “truth to power.” A new clip of her ‘Today’ interview with Savannah Guthrie was released and Amber doubles down on her defense, saying that everything she testified to, in fact, happened.
She also goes in on social media, agreeing with her lawyer’s complaints that the jury was persuaded by social media posts and news, and says the fans of Depp changed the way the trial went.
When Heard is told that the First Amendment doesn’t protect the right to defame someone, which she agreed with, but insisted she told no lies.
Amber Heard Continues To Stand By Her Testimony – Says She Spoke “Truth To Power”
When questioned whether of not she was simply ‘acting’ while on the stand, Amber rhetorically asks how she would be able to go up against one of the greatest living actors, implying that was indeed Depp that put on a show and made everything up.
Savannah shares some of Amber’s own recorded words, in which she admitted to hitting Johnny and starting fights, but Amber tells there that they were out of context and don’t paint the full picture.
Just by continuing to speak out in public, Amber keeps digging herself into a deeper hole in public opinion. People couldn’t seem to stand her before, but the more she talks and says that she’s not guilty, the more people continue to reject her and ignore her.
