When Kylen Schulte and Crystal Turner were found on August 18th, 2021, shot to death at their campsite they were not sure exactly of the time of death. They were giving a time of death of anywhere between the 12th and the 14th and it was originally thought that Kylen and Crystal were killed in the middle of the night.
However, thanks to some new information that they got from a reliable source that they say is close to the case it now looks like they have reliably time-stamped their deaths to be around the time of 11:35AM in the morning, meaning someone probably ran into their killer at around high noon on August 14th, 2021.
New information in the Moab Murders
Now the family is asking if anyone has any information that could be pertinent to the case that could have happened during that time. If someone ran into a speeding car around high noon, if any weirdos were hanging around the wedding that was going on in the area during that time, or if anyone saw anything around any of the campsites.
It seems thatbrhey have not been able to get any information from the wedding that was going on during that time, they said that the footage that was taken was held by a private company previously and they did not have access to it… yet. However it looks like someone could subpoena something out of someone at some point, just a thought.
Investigators are saying that the nature of the assault that was carried out on Kylen and Crystal was “extremely personal” and right now they really cannot rule out whether or not it could have been a hate crime directed at Kylen and Crystal because of the nature of their same sex relationship.
It would not be the first time someone has died for being a member of the LGBT community, however that level of hatred is kind of a rarity in Moab. They seem to be a pretty accepting community and whomever killed these two looks to be someone local, since they are not branching out their search to include other possible cities.
Also, these murders happened in broad daylight, so someone has to know something. We at DSD will be keeping an eye ont his case, we pray for nustice for the families. Stay tuned!!!
