There’s a new report that says Johnny Depp hasn’t looked at his ex-wife Amber Heard not once during their entire courtroom battle. That’s because he vowed to his ex-wife that she would never see his eyes again. Here’s what you need to know.
A lot of eagle-eyes fans have noticed that Johnny Depp has been keeping his head down each and every time Amber Heard has tried to make eye contact with him. And that’s not because he’s got a reason to look at his feet, but because he promised her that she would never look him in the eyes ever again. Johnny made the promise during one of their last meetings together at a hotel in San Francisco back in 2016.

“Mr. Depp hasn’t looked at you once this entire trial, has he?” Camille Vasquez, one of Depp’s lawyers, asked the actress while cross-examining her, to which she replied: “Not that I’ve noticed, no.”
“You’ve looked at him many times, haven’t you?” Vasquez continued, with Heard telling the attorney, “Yes, I have.”
Vasquez then followed with, “You know exactly why Mr. Depp won’t look back at you, don’t you?” which The Stand actress confirmed with, “I do.”
“He promised you you would never see his eyes again, is that true?” Vasquez asked while Heard told the court, “I don’t recall if he said that.”
As many fans know by now, Depp filed the defamation suit against Heard over a column she wrote for the Washington Post in December 2018 in which she described herself as a “public figure representing domestic abuse.” But Heard says that their marriage was so bad that she had no choice but to leave. She said in the final weeks of their marriage his sobriety completely broke down and he began “talking to people who weren’t in the room. it was terrifying.”
Depp also said in court last month that domestic abuse allegations made against him by his ex-wife had cost him “nothing less than everything” and claimed that she was the one who was frequently violent. The actor, taking the witness stand for a second day of testimony in his defamation case against Heard in the US state of Virginia, claimed she would regularly insult him and once threw a vodka bottle at him, severing the tip of one of his fingers.
