‘Friends’ Superintendent Actor Mike Hagerty Dead At 67

Mike Hagerty, the actor famous for his work on ‘Friends’ has died. Hagerty died Thursday in Los Angeles according to his ‘Somebody Somewhere’ co-star Bridget Everett, though the cause of death is still unknown.

Everett remembers Mike as a beloved character actor and devoted husband, saying that she, “loved Mike the instant I met him. He was so special. Warm, funny, never met a stranger.

While he appeared on dozens of shows over the years including, “Boston Legal,” “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” “Cheers,” “Community,” “CSI,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “Entourage,” “ER,” “Ghost Whisperer,” “Glee,” “The Goldbergs,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Happy Endings,” “Medium,” and “Seinfeld”, he is perhaps best known as the building superintendent Mr. Treeger on ‘Friends’. One of his biggest episodes came in season 4 when Joey (Matt LeBlanc) teaches him how to dance after he threatens to evict Monica (Courteney Cox) and Rachel (Jennifer Aniston).

Mike will always be remembered for his roles on all of these shows, but maybe one of the highest accolades was being a series regular on ‘The George Carlin Show’, as well as one season of ‘Lucky Louie’.

Recently, he starred in HBO’s ‘Somebody Somewhere’ with Everett, playing her father.

Mike is survived by his wife, Mary Kathryn.

Rest in peace Mike. He was 67.
