Musician Doja Cat has canceled her upcoming appearances after confirming that she is getting tonsil surgery.

This has put a dampener on the star’s recent success after she walked away with four accolades at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards this month. But when she discovered that she had an ‘abscess’ in her tonsil, Doja had to take the necessary precautions in order to address it.
And after having realised she required surgery, it was best to address this as soon as possible in case things got out of hand. In a post to her fans on Twitter, Doja said: “Unfortunately I have to have surgery on my tonsils asap.
“The surgery is routine but the recovery is going to take awhile due to swelling.” As a consequence, Doja will have to cancel her appearance in support of ‘The Weeknd’ in their summer tour. This is a setback, as the band will also have to seek out a replacement for Doja.
Although it is not clear how long she will be out for, as of yet, the very fact of the matter is that Doja is looking to bounce back as soon as possible. And when she does so, music will be on her mind.
She added: “I feel horrible about this but can’t wait for this to heal and get back to making music and create an experience for y’all.” The fans were understandably frustrated on social media. While they recognised that it was not Doja’s fault, there is no denying that the star has missed a few shows this year.
As a result, a certain subset of fans were clearly frustrated. One person wrote: “So am I getting my money back?? I’m seriously so upset. First you cancelled on the jingle ball after I bought tickets and now your cancelling this tour after I have tickets???”
