The pair have notoriously been on bad terms, particularly with Jake calling out McGregor for a potential boxing match. And in keeping with that hostility, Connor had a few choice words to say about Jake’s clothing in the aftermath of his appearance at Katie Taylor’s victory over Amanda Serrano.
In the two pictures here side by side, we can see that Jake and Jimmy have a similar style when it comes to the rose-tinted glasses that they wear. And that was enough for Connor to deliver a brutal one-liner. In his comments, McGregor said: “Who the f**k is this jackass in the pink Jimmy Saville glasses?”
Naturally, those comments did not go down very well with Jake. It is one thing being slammed for your boxing ability and another when you are being compared to a sex offender. But rather than responding in kind with an insult, Jake simply referred to how he had achieved more than what Connor could ever do.
That may have sounded impossible, but Jake did put up some very telling points. In his response, he stated: “I’m the one who has done more for fighters than you ever have. the one who has won 5 fights in the past 2 years while you have lost 5.
“The one who made the fight you just watched happen. the 1 who got your hero Katie Taylor paid. That’s who.” The fans on social media had a lot to say. A certain subset of people felt that the only way for their grievances to be resolved was for the pair to get in the ring. One person wrote: “Do I hear a match ?”
