In April, the news came out that a 16-year-old teenage boy had killed a grandmother and her 7-year-old grandson. He apparently beat them to death with a hammer and their bodies were found in her home in Greene County, Tennesse.

    True Crime: The Incident

Sherry Cole and her grandson,   were found after midnight on April 25 in her home. There was a teenager at the scene and he was arrested there and was charged with murder. In the police report, the “officers arrived at the home and found the victims’ bodies near the back of the house.” There were also puddles of blood next to one of the cars parked on site. Then the police found some tools, all of which “were covered in blood.”

The report also declared that a hammer was the murder weapon that was used to kill Cole and Allen in their heads. According to the teenager who was at the scene, he was planning on ways to kill them both earlier on in the day. Right now, there is no motive known, or at least the teenager hasn’t told the police what his motive was. We know that he did live in the home with Cole and her grandson and the relation to her has yet to be released.

The Greene County District Attorney told the press, “The circumstances of this case are bone-chilling.” The superintendent Allen’s school, Jerry Boyd, said, “There’s mourning, definitely. It’s very deep in grief right now just trying to understand, which is difficult in these kinds of situations.”

The suspect has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and it does look as if he will be charged as an adult. He will remain in a detention center for juveniles until his transfer hearing on August 23, 2022. There will be a status hearing on July 19, 2022.

It does look as if this crime was premeditated and the teenager may be facing life in prison if he is sentenced. This is a horrible crime and there is still some investigation going into it further. Authorities want to know what the teenager killed Cole and Allen and if there was something that they may have seen before he did so. No matter what, our hearts go out to the family and loved ones in this case.

We will continue to keep an eye on any updates that come from this case and if a motive is ever identified.
