Sean Penn Takes Responsibility For Messing Up His Marriage With Leila George-‘I F–ked Up’
The pair had been dating for 4 years before they decided to get married in 2020. However, just a year later, the duo decided to call it quits. Although Sean was not unfaithful towards her, the very fact of the matter is that he did neglect Leila.
So much so that he admitted that other things had taken priority such as alcohol, as well as his tendency to focus on getting involved in current events. Not only that, but the significant age gap between the pair did not help matters. At the time of their marriage, there was a 32-year age gap.
With that being said, Sean took responsibility for the marriage breaking down. In an interview with the Hollywood Authentic, he said: “There’s a woman who I’m so in love with, Leila George, who I only see on a day-to-day basis now, because I f–ked up the marriage.
“We were married technically for one year, but for five years, I was a very neglectful guy.” It is not clear whether there will ever be a chance that the pair can reconcile fully, but one thing for sure is that Sean admitted to being a changed man.
He expanded upon how he no longer is fixated with his mobile phone, as well as the fact that he does take a break from current affairs. He added: “Now, when I wash the dishes, I don’t answer my phone. I can have my phone off and not watch the news for 12 hours now.”
And yet, Sean’s involvement in the Russia-Ukraine war by traveling to Kyiv to meet Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky in order to document the events in Ukraine surely counter this. This is even if it was part of his documentary on the event.
