Alec Baldwin and Hilaria Baldwin opened up on their approach to baby names amid the news that they are expecting their seventh child.
Alec And Hilaria Baldwin Plan On Giving Their Upcoming Child An All-American Name
According to a source, the pair were in attendance at the New York Philharmonic Spring Gala, Alice Tully Hall. And during the course of that process, they were overheard talking to reporter Tom Murro.
That is when they informed the latter that their newborn baby would be named with an ‘all-American’ name like a “Babe Ruth or Chase Manhattan” depending on the gender. Clearly, Hilaria’s ‘Spanish heritage’ is not going to have an impact.
In the couple’s defence, though, their other kids do have international names. They have included a combination of Italian and Spanish names such as María and Leonardo. Not only that, but after her Spanish heritage scandal in which she had to clarify that she was from Boston and not Spain, an American name would make sense.
Aside from being criticised over heritage, the couple have also been scrutinized on social media over their decision to have another baby. After all, Alec is 64-years-old and clearly not getting any younger. In addition, the timing was not great as the ‘Rust’ scandal which killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins also put the spotlight on Alec.
And yet, the latter stood by the decision to have another child. In a prior post on Instagram, Alec remarked: “Our new baby is a very bright spot in our lives. A blessing and a gift during such uncertain times.”
The fans on social media were very harsh on Alec. People could not forget the Rust incident, as his actions seemed to be forgetting Halyna. Meanwhile, others mocked Hilaria over her Spanish heritage.
One person wrote: “Like his wife’s real name: Hillary,” while another person stated: “The woman he shot 6 months ago and showed no remorse for also had a name, it was Halyna.”
Time will tell what name the couple do eventually end up going with. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.
