Oscar Hosts Shade Kim Kardashian Over Her Prior Comments About Working Harder-‘That’s What We Need You To Do’
In order to dampen the disappointment of those that did not walk away with an Oscar, the duo decided to hand out ‘consolation prizes’ as a way to lighten the mood and poke some fun. During the course of that process, they followed up this action with Kim’s prior comments.
When quoting the reality star, they said: “We have an inspirational quote for you. This is a quote from Kim Kardashian, ‘Work harder.’ That’s what we need you to do.”
That naturally got the laughter of the audience, which was understandable given the backlash that Kim had received when she made those comments. There was a perception that Kim had no right to be handing out such advice, given that she had grown up in a fairly wealthy family.
Her father, Robert Kardashian, was a well-known lawyer having worked on major cases including none other than OJ Simpson’s murder trial. And it all came to a head when Jameela Jamil blasted Kim for being out of touch.
In some prior comments, she remarked: “Nobody needs to hear your thoughts on success/work ethic. This same 24 hours in the day s–t is a nightmare. 99.9% of the world grew up with a VERY different 24 hours.”
The response on social media was mixed. A certain subset of people felt that Kim did not get enough credit for the hard work that she had put in to make herself a success.
Meanwhile, others were of the view that the joke had summed up exactly the idea that Kim’s success was helped by a lot of luck. One person wrote: “But Kim was right. Work harder!” As long as Kim continues to make a success of herself, as she is currently doing, then she will not mind what others have to say about it all.
And given by her prior track record, she certainly knows a thing or two about being a successful businesswoman. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this?
