Actress Jameela Jamil has blasted Kim Kardashian following her recent comments in which she suggested that people from less well-off backgrounds needed to work harder.

It is no secret that Kim is one of the most successful celebrities around. She has managed to go from a reality TV star into a successful businesswoman, as shown by her brand ‘Skims.’
So much so that her net worth has now gone into the billions. While Kim has worked very hard, she was not best pleased about the attitudes of others. In a Variety interview, she was alleged to have stated the following: “Get your f–king ass up and work.”
And yet, Jameela felt that her comments needed to be put into their correct context. Her father, Robert Kardashian, was a very successful lawyer and represented none other than O.J Simpson during his murder trial.
Clearly, Kim was not short of money nor opportunities as a result of growing up in a successful family. And this is something that Jameela felt was important. In a post to her fans on Twitter, she said: “I think if you grew up in Beverly Hills with super successful parents in what was simply a smaller mansion.
“Nobody needs to hear your thoughts on success/work ethic.” Jameela does have a point. After all, Kim can hardly compare herself to those that had to start with nothing. Unlike Kim, Jameela had to overcome a lot of adversity in her career.
Not only was she born with congenital hearing loss and labyrinthitis, she had to work to overcome them without the riches that Kim may have had. That is why she had no time for Kim.
She added: “They shouldn’t be asked about their secret to success. They shouldn’t answer those questions. It’s all obvious to everyone, and I hope nobody holds themselves to the standards of people who were raised by millionaires.”
Kim’s comments are clearly out of touch, and perhaps she should choose her words more carefully going forward. After all, she could have alienated a certain subset of her fanbase. Does Jameela have a point?
