Ye, slow it down. Or better yet, turn it off. There’s a new report that says experts believe Kanye West’s social media behavior is more than just concerning, it’s dangerous. His posts on Instagram are apparently doing more than just harassing his estranged wife Kim Kardashian, but apparently also showing patterns of abuse. Here’s what you need to know.
For weeks now Ye has taken to Instagram to tell the world just how much he misses Kim, how much he wants his family back, and how much he doesn’t like her boyfriend, Pete Davidson. That, and he seems to have taken their spats about North’s TikTok account and Saint’s soccer game schedule public, too.
Experts Say Kanye West’s Social Media Posts Are Doing More Than Just Harassing Kim Kardashian
Ruth Glenn, CEO of the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV), has said that Kanye’s escalation on social media is typical in patterns of abuse.
“There’s nothing better to exert your control and power than disrupting the world around that person and going after things and people they love and care about,” Glenn said.
It is “very disturbing that he is also using a public forum to make these kinds of threats and quite frankly, get away with it,” she said.
In one particular post Kanye explained that he wasn’t harassing the “Saturday Night Live” star but was just getting his “payback” after Pete had insulted him several times in the past about his mental health. In another poem, Kanye said that getting a divorce is just like getting “COVID,” “walking on glass,” “getting beat up in the mall,” one’s “soul getting dragged over coals,” among other horrible things.
Kim unfollowed Ye on Instagram last month amid all of his tirades about her, their family and her current beau, Pete Davidson.
