Actress Milla Jovovich has spoken over the heartbreak that she is feeling, as she watches Russia and Ukraine go at war with each other.

Milla, for her part, has mixed emotions by virtue of the fact that she does have connections to both Ukraine and Russia. She gets her Russian connection from her mother’s side, while Milla was born in Ukraine herself.
And given that she is not in either country, as she resides within the United States, it has been very hard for her to watch what has been going on. In a post to her fans on Instagram, Milla expressed how it has been terrible to witness the events unfolding.
She said: “I am heartbroken and dumbstruck trying to process the events of this week in my birthplace of Ukraine. My country and people being bombed. Friends and family in hiding.”
Milla is just one of many actresses that has been going through a lot of late. Fellow Ukrainian actress, Erika Eleniak has also stated how she has been left shocked by the events that have been going on.
And given that Milla has seen her father go through difficulties, while he was living under war conditions himself, these attacks have reminded her just how quick the world can change.
She added: “I remember the war in my father’s homeland of former Yugoslavia and the stories my family tells of the trauma and terror they experienced. War. Always war.
“Leaders who cannot bring peace. The never ending juggernaut of imperialism. And always, the people pay in bloodshed and tears.”
Fans came out to show Milla support and were on hand to let her know that she was in their prayers. After all, Milla cannot do anything other than hope for the best given she is not in the country.
One person wrote: “I hope Milla Jovovich is okay. Truly.” Much like the rest of the world, Milla will be hoping that this conflict is brought to an end as soon as possible.
