Kanye West has not been banned from Saturday Night Live following rumors suggesting that he may have been so.
Reports Deny Claims That Kanye West Has Been Banned From SNL
The primary reason why this might have been the case was due to the fact that Kanye has been exchanging verbal shots on social media against one of the stars of the show, Pete Davidson.
It is no secret that the comedian has struggled with mental health issues, as the result of social media backlash which he has been vocal about.
And following his recent return to Instagram, there was a feeling Pete could experience a similar feeling, especially since Kanye was on hand to troll him.
Following his return to Instagram, Kanye decided to follow Pete as well as calling out a previous joke the comedian had made about the rapper.
At the time, Kanye had written the following: “HI SKETE YOU GOT ANYMORE MENTAL HEALTH JOKES FOR ME?” In reality, the chances of Kanye appearing on the show are very slim for the following reasons.
First of all, his visible dislike for Pete cannot lead to an environment where the rapper and the comedian could work together. And by not having Pete there simply because Kanye could be appearing, it would simply create more controversy.
Secondly, in light of everything that Kanye has said about the show in the past, it is clear that he does not hold it in high regard.
In a prior interview on the “Drink Champs” podcast, the rapper implied that the show was trying to make Kim Kardashian mock him.
He said: “SNL making my wife say ‘I divorced him’ on TV because they just wanted to get that bar off, and I never have seen the papers.
“So how we — because [it’s] no joke to me, my kids want their parents to stay together. I want their parents — I want us to be together.”
There is always a slim possibility, however, that Kanye could make an appearance. After all, he is known for being one of the most controversial celebrities on the planet. And this move would certainly add to the long list of his antics.
