Just when you thought that the world was taking one step forward in its two-year battle against COVID-19, it seems like everyone is taking two steps back again. Following reports that say Queen Elizabeth has tested positive for COVID-19, there’s a new report that says the prince of pop, Justin Bieber, is also sick with the virus, forcing him to cancel his concert in Las Vegas. Here’s what you need to know.

The singer, 27, found out he contracted the coronavirus on Saturday but “thankfully is feeling OK,” says TMZ. According to the outlet, Justin Bieber also had to cancel his scheduled show at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday. The show has been rescheduled for the summer.

The new date for his show at T-Mobile is June 28. As of press time, tickets are being refunded at point of purchase, and tickets to the original Sunday show will be honored for the rescheduled date.

The 52-city tour, rescheduled from 2021, had just launched in Pechanga Arena in San Diego on Thursday night. The Las Vegas date is the only show announced as canceled. This week, Bieber had cut his VIP meet-and-greet opportunities scheduled for San Diego and Las Vegas.

Back in April of last year, it was reported that Justin Bieber’s tour that was scheduled to begin June 2 and run through the summer has been pushed back into 2022. While the singer himself has not made any comments about it, sources say that an official announcement will likely come soon.

One of the reasons why Justin’s tour has been pushed back is because most of his tour dates are in indoor arenas, where COVID restrictions may remain more stringent than for outdoor shows in many locales for some time to come.

The tour was set to open in San Diego and have some of its other initial dates in California. Unfortunately, no indication has been made that the state of California will open up venues at 100 percent capacity by that time. Other tour stops include Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Oregon, Washington State, Missouri, Minnesota and Illinois.
