Canada is in a state flux as the Freedom Convoy remains in Ottawa until Justin Trudeau is removed from office and all vaccination mandates are dropped.
News of the protest has spread across the world as people everywhere have grown weary of having rights limited or taken away in some cases. Similar protests have been appearing in other countries as well, with Canada’s Freedom Convoy being the spark to set things in motion.
It’s been reported that Trudeau hasn’t met with the truckers to work out a peaceful resolution, instead taking to the airwaves to call it a small fringe movement full of racists and Nazis with little to no evidence to support the claim.
There it is: @BradGushue and @MarkNichols_NL are back on the Olympic podium after 16 years! Congratulations to you two – and to @BPGallant, @GWalker71, and @LeftyKenBear – on winning bronze! We knew you had it in you. #TeamCanada https://t.co/Zj1Eb64MlD

Stemming the tide
Things got worse when the Prime Minister activated the Emergency Act that allows the Canadian government to freeze the protestors money, any donations to them, and have them arrested.
This follows attempts to take away their fuel so they’d freeze or leave and threatening to remove their pets, including a permanent basis if they’re arrested.
To add to the chaos, today’s session of Parliament was canceled over safety concerns with an unanimous vote by the House Leadership, saving Trudeau another day of facing difficult questions as the use of the Emergency Act was set to be debated with a vote following on Monday.
It’s important to note they have said the debate will happen early next week and Trudeau’s Liberals, with the support of the New Democrats Party, have enough votes pass the motion.
Olympics backfire
In a show of support to Team Canada, Trudeau retweeted Team Canada’s bronze win in curling.
It didn’t work out as planned and he faced instant backlash from citizens using a various memes and comments, but one that really stuck out asked: “Glad you are enjoying the olympics. Can you tell me how I can explain what is happening in Ottawa to my children?”
With the Olympics being dubbed the “Genocide Games” by many for China’s alleged treatment of the Uyghur population and reports of the pandemic originating there coupled with the timing of events in Ottawa, this was destined bring even more backlash.
Things are coming to a head with peaceful protestors being arrested with snipers looking down from rooftops and Trudeau not engaging in open discourse.
There’s bound to be a breaking point sooner or later, and we hope it’s as peaceful as possible given all that’s happened instead of reminding us of the legend of Nero playing his fiddle.
