And Just Like That… John Corbett (Aiden Shaw) Apologizes

Last Spring, John Corbett formerly of Sex and the City fame said that he was excitrd to be reprising his role as Aiden Shaw on the reboot And Just Like That, and was going to be “in quite a few episodes” it seems that Corbett took a level in trolling because he totally played the audience, specifically the Aiden fans who were counting on seeing him in the reboot.

After the second movie and with the death of Carrie’s husband John James Preston AKA “Big” (Chris Noth) people thought for certain that Aiden would certainly come in and sweep Carrie off her feet and save her from heartbreak.

…Not so fast.

In fact, writer Julie Rottenberg and creator Michael Patrick King both publicly roasted Corbett saying that they said nothing about Aiden and that he shouldn’ t have said anything. They even said that he should be writing personal apology letters – ouch!

And Just Like That… John Corbett Apologizes

But it seems that behind the scenes Corbett has been the perfect gentleman, at least according to Sarah Jessica Parker and reached out to her to apologize at least. Recently in an interview on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Parker spoke positively of Corbett and even implied that a reunion between Carrie and Aiden may be possible in the future.

That may be wishful thinking on her part, though. How might that go anyway? After all the last time we saw Aiden, he had a young son. Granted the son would probably be around the age of Brady now, but he would still have him, barring some horrible tragedy.

Also, if Aiden had a son one would presume that he had along the way found a wife as well – although we didn’ t hear much about her in the second movie when those two kissed. Still, things happen and it would be interesting to see how divorcee or widowed Aiden was handling things with a college-aged son.

Though, maybe not divorcee Aiden simply because of the way he behaved when Carrie broke his heart was pretty appalling… in fact the way both of them parted was pretty appalling. Maybe its best Aiden is left in the past. Stay tuned!
