’90 Day Fiancé’ always has its breakout stars and, while Floridian, Kenny Niedermeier, and his now-husband, Armando Rubio were instant fan favorites, it was Kenny’s dog, Truffles who won viewers’ hearts.
On January 30, the 18-year-old long-haired Chihuahua passed away and Kenny left a loving tribute to his travel companion on Instagram.
First, the 58-year-old explained how heartbroken he was to lose “this beautiful, calm & gentle soul” after spending nearly two decades together, before eulogizing Truffles’ long life.
Truffles was better traveled than many humans, having been to “about 25 states, 3 countries, plane rides, major cities to small towns.”
’90 Day Fiancé’: Kenny Niedermeier’s Beloved Dog Truffles has Passed Away
Kenny mentioned in the post the moment 90 Day fans met Truffles, when she joined him during “her golden years on a wonderful adventure”, his big move to Mexico to be with Armando and his daughter, Hannah.
It also turns out Truffles was quite the Cameo star- appearing at least 350 times!
The 90 Day family, who continued to see Truffles on both seasons of The Other Way Strikes Back, several Pillow Talks and as a special participant of Kenny and Armando’s wedding reached out to the distraught dog-dad with love and compassion.
Truffles’ death has come only a few months after another 90 Day favorite canine, Big Ed Brown’s poodle mix, Teddy passed away.
Though Big Ed has become quite the villain on the 90 Day franchise, Teddy was universally loved by audiences and often labeled “the best part about Big Ed”.
Kenny finished up his sad post about his ride or die companion by saying “Truffles was my little girl, yes I know she was a dog but she was my dog who was my family and best friend that showed me unconditional love. She knew she was loved and truly showed me I was loved back.
This empty feeling will last for a while, but the memories I have of her will forever fill my heart and continue to bring me happiness and a smile. See you again someday Truffles, your Daddy adored you. Thank you for being by my side and always listening to me even if you didn’t always understand, It gave me great comfort just knowing you were there. 😊 🐾”
Sorry, I must go, there’s something in my eye.
R.I.P Truffles and we hope you feel better soon, Kenny, Armando, and Hannah.
