Yes, you read that headline right, folks. A Houston Mom who was also a teacher for the Cypress-Fairbanks school district put her COVID positive 13-year-old son in the trunk of her car while she drove to another drive-thru COVID testing site for further testing. What was her line of logic?
She did not want to be exposed to COVID and probably have to miss work, so she decided the best course of action was to socially distance herself from her son by stuffing him in the trunk like something straight out of Goodfellas. How was her son discovered?
Houston Mother Puts COVID Positive 13-Year-Old Son In Trunk!
The school’s director of health services, Bevin Gordon, discovered him when they were taking information from cars at the COVID 19 testing site. While the Mom maintains that the child was not harmed (she didn’t go full mafia on him) in the act, the incident happened on Wednesday but was not publicly reported until Friday.
Can you just imagine being 13, getting sick at school and testing positive for a terrifying disease and when your Mom comes to pick you up instead of getting a hug and an offer of McDonald’s you get, “Hey hop in the trunk, we’re going for a ride?”
We do hope the youngster was not mentally traumatized by the event, after all, it’s bad enough that one gets COVID (having known several people who have had it) but to get COVID and then have to isolate in the trunk away from your Mom when you’re feeling you’re most vulnerable?
That is really harsh. One wonders why the Mom simply wouldn’t tell her son to mask up and maybe sit in the back seat instead of sitting in the passenger’s side with her. Obviously, the health director for the school got quite the shock when they popped the trunk and saw a live child inside but we don’t know how exactly that was reported.
Now if the Mom had an underlying condition or something that would have been deadly to mix with COVID one can almost see her motivation, after all, COVID along with certain health conditions can be life-threatening but so far there was no mention of that, and one has to wonder what this Mom’s true motivations were.
