Reports indicate that the pandemic has led to a surge in the number of false vaccination ID documents emerging.

It is no secret that the vaccination programme has divided society across the globe on many fault lines. A certain subset of people refuse to get vaccinated for many reasons such as having genuine medical exemptions.
Although that should be recognised, the very fact of the matter is that it has not always been met with decorum, as people with genuine exemptions have been subjected to criticism.
Naturally, it is no surprise then that false documentation has started to emerge, especially since jobs have become contingent upon one’s vaccination status.
According to TMZ, this has now become a very popular thing: “The cards are going for around $250 … $50 a pop more than they were going for back in September, and that means demand is high.”
If these comments are taken to be true, then it suggests that there needs to be mass reform to prevent such a thing for the following reasons. First of all, genuine medical exemptions being recognised would prevent the rise of a black market.
Therefore, it is better to allow such individuals to have access to obtaining exemptions rather than resorting to underhanded matters. Secondly, in any event, there are always going to be people looking to profit in any way that they can.
As such, if there was any evidence that people were looking to exploit people’s concerns by making false ID’s for profit, then there should be measures in place to punish them.
The response on social media was one of mass concern. A certain subset of people were outraged by the fact that such a thing could be happening. As a result, they suggested that people who were engaging in this should receive the highest possible punishment.
One person on Twitter wrote: “That’s dangerous for many people who truly are vaccinated the people who are buying them should be arrested and so should the people selling them for money.”
