Entrepreneur Karen Brady has praised Queen Elizabeth II in light of the bravery she has shown during a difficult time in her life.
Entrepreneur Karen Brady Praises Queen Elizabeth II For Showing ‘True Leadership’
Reports indicated that the monarch was allowed an exemption from the Covid regulations on the grounds that she should be allowed to attend Prince Philip’s funeral.
Given that the rest of the public had to abide by the regulations, even in the face of potentially losing out the chance of ever seeing a loved one, it is claimed that the Queen declined this exemption which simply demonstrated her true leadership qualities.
And that is something that Karen felt spoke volumes. In an interview with The Sun, Karen said: “She turned it [exemption] down?
“In a show of solidarity that is the polar opposite of the ‘one rule for us, another for them’ accusations that have been flying around politicians lately.
“The suggestion was rejected by Her Majesty. That’s why we all admire the Queen.” If these comments are taken to be true, then it does demonstrate self-sacrifice for the following reasons.
First of all, the Queen had to undergo the loss of Philip during the most difficult period. This was done without her close ones by her side, as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were no longer present in the Royal family.
Not only that, but the latter duo’s controversial interview with Oprah Winfrey had also clouded Philip’s death as it coincided with that.
Secondly, given that the Queen had also suffered the loss of other people including her close friend Lady Farnham, she could be forgiven if she decided to flout the rules for one occasion.
And yet, by setting an example, it reduces the claims that the Royal family are often exempt from following the rules.
Karen’s following comments confirmed as much: “Although she was in mourning over the loss of her life partner and soulmate, she would not accept preferential treatment, likely because she knew it would not have been fair on the rest of us.
“That’s what true leadership is all about.” So did the Queen do the right thing by not attending Philip’s funeral or should she have gone?
