‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers find star Patrika Darbo is back after a five year absence, and claims she “fell right back into” her high strung but loving character, Nancy Wesley with ease…well, sort of.
“Holy crap. I’m a lot older now. How many lines am I going to have to learn?”
That was Darbo’s first thought when she discovered the depth of the storyline she would soon be embroiled in.
“I was very flattered when I was [asked to return],” Darbo, who originated the role back in 1998 recalled. However “I thought I was coming on for a couple little scenes. I didn’t realize how big the storyline was — and what it was.”
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Patrika Darbo (Nancy Wesley) Warns Her New Storyline “May Upset a Few People”
Even though Nancy only showed back up Salem this week, much to daughter Chloe Lane’s (Nadia Bjorlin) chagrin, Darbo began filming in September and teases that head writer Ron Carlivati has quite the storyline set for Nancy.
“Ron has created a storyline that is unprecedented and is going to be fabulous. I hope. It may upset a few people, and it may not. It will be an adventure.”
Unprecedented? In Salem? The home of MarDevil and an apparent warehouse filled will life like masks pf each Salemite, complete with voice (and accent) changing technology?
Oh boy!
Despite the depth of the mysterious plot Nancy will be featured in, Darbo is not back on contract. However, this is no problem for the soap vet who has also appeared on General Hospital and both The Bold and the Beautiful and Young and Restless as Shirley Spectra,
“Anytime an actor can say, ‘I’m a working actor,’ is a very good thing,” the 73-year-old told Soap Opera Digest. She also claims she is doubly happy that her work has led her back home.
“I thought it would be fun. I adore Nadia as my daughter. We’ve kept in touch over the years. Eric [Martsolf, Brady Black] and I have done events together, and I think he’s wonderfully talented, so to get to come back and play with them and my darling Kevin [Spirtas, Craig Wesley] has been great.”
Bjorlin was only 18 years old when she and Darbo first appeared together as mother and daughter and Darbo is still singing her screen daughter’s praises.
“Nadia is something. You can’t keep your eyes off her because she’s so beautiful and she’s grown so as a performer,” she gushed before adding, “We went right back into that mother/daughter relationship.”
Watch Patrika and Nadia fall right back into the family dynamic and brace yourself for what’s coming when Days of Our Lives airs, weekdays on NBC.
