‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers find that if you blinked you may have missed Jennifer’s return to then departure from Salem. And this time, as Jennifer jets back out east, she’s taking husband, Jack with her.
Melissa Reeves finally reprised the role of legacy character, Jennifer for a quick stint to surprise the extended Horton family this Christmas. Reeves has portrayed the character on and off for 26 years, however she has not yet said she will sign on for any sort of extended contract.

In fact, Reeves’ decision to not return after the pandemic caused filming to shut down in Hollywood created quite the headache for Days producers. They ultimately hired a new actress to wrap up Jennifer’s storyline and Cady McClain took over the reins for six months.
McClain was surprising well-received by audiences, considering Reeves has been a mainstay for nearly 3 decades, and she even earned herself a Daytime Emmy for her troubles.
Without a permanent actress attached to the role, it appears Jennifer may be in Boston for quite some time, but what does the mean for Jack and portrayer Matthew Ashford?
No one is certain yet if this is “good bye” or “see you soon” for Ashford but if Jack can return from the dead as Eve Donovan’s plus one, we’re pretty sure he can fly back to Salem to sort out daughters Abigail Devereaux (Marci Miller) and Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) when they inevitably find themselves in trouble yet again.
There is the possibility Jack could return permanently to the canvas, but now that he has reconciled with his wife, it would make sense he’d bring Jennifer back with him. If so, she may look like Reeves, maybe McClain or hey, let’s throw it back to actress Stephanie Cameron who took over the Jennifer role for three years in the mid-late 90’s!
