Just like so many before him, it’s safe to say that Bob Saget was gone too soon. There are new reports that say Bob Saget had a “fascination” with death. The actor and comedian was found dead in his Orlando hotel room over the weekend. He was just 65. Here’s what you need to know.
Saget, known for starring in sitcoms including Full House, was pronounced dead in a hotel room in Orlando, Florida. Officers from Orange County Sheriff’s Office were called following reports of an unresponsive man at the Ritz-Carlton hotel. No signs of foul play were found, according to local authorities.
Comedian Bob Saget Reportedly Had A ‘Fascination’ With Death
Saget had just begun his new 2022 stand-up tour and had earlier tweeted about his show in Jacksonville, expressing his delight at being back performing. But according to Page Six, Saget himself admitted that he experienced a lot of loss before his own death.
“I’ve always had a fascination with death, being surrounded by so much of it growing up,” he wrote in his 2014 memoir, “Dirty Daddy.” He said that he lost three of his uncles before he turned 15. “All these men were my childhood heroes,” he wrote.
If that weren’t enough, Saget’s two sisters, Andi and Gay, also died young. “Andi (short for Andrea) died at age thirty-four of a brain aneurysm,” he wrote. “And then years later, Gay lost her life at the age of forty-seven to the disease scleroderma.” Saget’s parents also experienced a lot of heartbreak in their lives, too.
“Two years before I was born, my mom had given birth to full-term healthy twins,” Saget wrote in his book. “And when I say two years before I was born, I mean two years to the day: May 17, 1954. I was born on May 17, 1956. The twins who were born two years earlier were named Robert and Faith.
“Like I said they were both born healthy, but the hospital in Philly had recently been infested with dysentery and no one told any of the parents who had given birth that week. I don’t know exactly what happened but as my mother conveys it now, about seven babies died along with the twins. Robert and Faith lived only seven and eight days, respectively.”
