CNN has spoken out in response to Andy Cohen’s jibe towards Ryan Seacrest during the network’s special on New Year’s Eve.

CNN Responds After Andy Cohen’s Comments Slamming Ryan Seacrest-‘We Addressed It’

It is no secret that Andy was drunk during the course of the show. And as part of that, it led to some uncharacteristic behaviour in which he began to speak out against Ryan.

The latter had also been hosting a show for rival network ABC. And given that they were going head-to-head, Andy made sure that he told the world just how inadequate of a job Ryan was doing.

In a statement at the time, Andy had remarked the following: “There’s a bunch of smoke coming from Ryan Seacrest’s group of losers that are performing behind us…I’m sorry, but it’s true.”

While it did muster up a barrel of laughs amongst the fanbase, the very fact of the matter is that such behaviour was out of order.

After all, by being a broadcaster, Andy’s job was to make sure that his own show had set high standards rather than focusing on what others may have been doing.

That is why CNN decided to conduct an investigation in order to determine what should happen next. And by the looks of it, this has now been put to bed.

In a statement given by a representative of CNN, they said: “Andy said something he shouldn’t have on live tv. We’ve addressed it with him and look forward to having him back again next year.”

Although Ryan did not respond to that, Andy has addressed this controversy. And understandably, he had a lot of regrets when he was looking back on the matter. This is especially true since Andy and Ryan have had a good working relationship over the years.

That is why he has taken steps to ensure that it has not damaged any relationship that they had. In response, Andy stated: “The only thing that I regret saying, the only thing is that I slammed the ABC broadcast and I really like Ryan Seacrest.”

Going forward, Andy should be controlling his alcohol levels next time around to avoid any further embarrassment. If you liked reading this article, then check out our other features on the Daily Soap Dish.
