Alec Baldwin has denied claims that he is not cooperating with the authorities amid the ‘Rust’ scandal.

The actor’s prop gun incident on the set led to the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. In response, the authorities are conducting an investigation in order to determine whether or not Alec is going to be held liable.
And as part of that process, the authorities requested a search warrant to obtain Alec’s phone records. But given that the actor did not hand them over willingly until a warrant had been issued, there were suggestions that the actor was not cooperating.
But this has been firmly rejected by Alec. In a post to his fans on Instagram, he said: “They can’t just go through your phone and take your photos, or your love letters to your wife, or what have you.”
On closer inspection, Alec’s views are totally understandable. This would ultimately lead to other people getting involved in the investigation and seeing their names tarnished.
Of particular focus would be his wife or children, as well as any other close friends who he happened to speak with on a regular basis by the telephone. In this way, it could be argued that Alec was trying to protect them from the media scrutiny.
Having said that ,though, it could also be interpreted in another way. Failure to willingly cooperate with the authorities could be seen as inadvertently preventing them from getting to the bottom of the truth.
After all, if you have nothing to hide, then there is no reason why there should be any worries or obstacles in place for the authorities. That is why, Alec has continued to defend his decision.
He added: “Any suggestion that I am not complying with requests or orders or demands or search warrants about my phone, that’s bull——, that’s a lie.”
Realistically, the only way for the criticism to stop is for the police to get to the bottom of the truth and make a final ruling on the matter. Unfortunately for everyone ,however, that is going to take some time. So there you have it folks.
