Prince Harry has been left embarrassed after an interview of him claiming that he wanted to earn a normal wage has resurfaced.
Prince Harry Left Embarrassed After An Old Interview Resurfaces Of Him Wanting To ‘Work With Normal People’
Harry was recently criticised when he suggested that people should quit their jobs, if it did not make them happy. This created a huge backlash given that Harry is not exactly short of money and therefore would be in the best position to quit a job and move on.
This luxury, however, is not something that the majority of people are going to be exposed to. And now things have become even more difficult for Harry, as a prior interview suggesting that he wanted to fit in with the rest of society has now surfaced.
In the said interview, Harry is heard saying the following: “But I, and William, both of us, we feel as though we need to have a wage as well, to work with normal people, to keep us sane, to keep us ticking along.”
This is not a good look for the following reasons. First of all, ever since Harry left the Royal family, his income has skyrocketed. He has signed a book deal, as well as a reported deal with Netflix worth 100 million dollars.
Secondly, given the he and Meghan Markle are on course to become billionaires, it is very hard to see how that fits in line with his previous comments.
Respected journalist Joan Smith felt that Harry’s comments were not genuine. That is why, there seems to be a subtle shade towards him.
She remarked: “Apparently Harry would also like to try his hand at earning a ‘wage’ – although he didn’t specify whether he meant minimum.
“London is expensive and he might find it hard to keep up a flat in Kensington Palace on £6.50 an hour.” In his defence, Harry could easily end up giving back to the community with the millions that he is going to make.
If he does manage to do that, then it will take some of the heat that he is going to be getting in response to these comments. Time will tell.
