Nick Cannon has defended his decision to return to work in the aftermath of his 5-month-old son Zen’s death from a brain tumour.

Nick Cannon Defends His Decision To Return To Work Following His Son’s Death-‘This Isn’t Work, This Is Love’

Nick, for his part, made the public admission on his talk show entitled the ‘Nick Cannon show.’ Naturally, he could be forgiven for taking some time off work in order to recover.

And yet, it looks as though Nick is cut from a different cloth. Rather than wanting to take some time out, he has decided to thrust himself deep within his work, as a way to cope with what he has been going through.

In this way, it has been a much-needed distraction from what would have been an otherwise even more difficult period. But not everybody has seen it that way.

During an episode of his show, he said: “A lot of people keep asking me like, ‘Man, why are you even at work?…Boy, you need to go sit down somewhere, you got too many jobs already. Allow yourself to just be yourself.”

Regardless of whether you agree with what Nick has decided to do, one thing for sure is that grief can do strange things to people. But by having a sense of focus and purpose, Nick admitted that it has allowed him to deal with grief a little easier.

After all, when you put yourself out there to the world in front of the whole media, there is no choice but to get a hold of yourself and show that you are capable of keeping things together. That is why Nick has continued to press ahead with his career.

He added: “And I appreciate that all of that advice, and I know it comes from a place of care. But to me, this isn’t work. This is love.

“Yesterday, it was a little easier than today because yesterday I was so laser-focused and even numb.” It is still too early to say that Nick has gotten over this.

And if work is something that allows him to escape for a little while, then who are we to criticise him. If you liked reading this article, then check out our other features on the Daily Soap Dish.
