Lady Gaga Needed A Psychiatric Nurse While Filming ‘The House Of Gucci’ – ‘It Was Safer For Me’

Lady Gaga has admitted that her mental health was impacted during the recent filming for the movie ‘House of Gucci.’

Lady Gaga ended up playing Patrizia Reggiani, who happened to be the woman responsible for planning the assassination of her ex-husband Maurizio Gucci.

Although Lady Gaga continued to receive praise for her performance from the movie critics, the filming took its toll as she required medical intervention towards the film’s conclusion.

During an interview with Variety, she said: “I had a psychiatric nurse with me towards the end of filming. I sort of felt like I had to. I felt that it was safer for me.”

These comments are just one of many which demonstrate how tough method acting can end up being. This is the concept of trying to evoke as much emotion as possible by identifying with the character, to the extent that it becomes synonymous with oneself.

And as part of that process, Lady Gaga ended up embodying her character everywhere she went. Although that led to a praiseworthy performance, it was not something that was conducive to her health.

She added: “I was always Patrizia…I wasn’t pretending that Maurizio was waiting for me downstairs — I was still living my life. I just lived it as her. I brought the darkness with me home because her life was dark.”

Despite her passion and dedication to the role, the Gucci family was not impressed by the movie. The family was reportedly unhappy at the fact that many of the film’s characters were not depicted in the correct manner.

In addition, they had allegedly not been consulted on it which is very significant given that the movie is about them. In a statement given to Variety, a spokesperson for the family remarked: “The production of the film did not bother to consult the heirs.

“This is extremely painful from a human point of view, and an insult to the legacy.” Given the acclaim that Lady Gaga has generally received for this role, it is only right that she deservedly takes some time off in order to recuperate.
