Kim Kardashian has once again put herself firmly within the legal sphere by speaking out against the recent 110-year sentence that was given to Rogel Aguilera-Mederos.

According to reports, Rogel was given the sentence this month following his car crash in which four people were killed and others injured.
But given that there was no evidence of driving under the influence of alcohol, coupled with the fact that the brakes on the vehicle were deemed to have failed, a large subset of people felt that this sentence was disproportionate. And none more so than Kim.
In a post to her fans on Instagram, she said: “Another shocking and unfair part of this case is that the judge didn’t want to sentence him to such a lengthy sentence.
“However, because of the mandatory minimums in Colorado, his hands were tied.” Regardless of what you think about this case, it is important to bear in mind the following.
First of all, Kim’s words are going to be influential by virtue of the fact that she is a well-known celebrity. And her prior track record has shown just how much of an influence she has when it comes to legal matters.
Just recently, she had urged the authorities to not go ahead and execute Brandon Bernard who was put on death row. Although he would still go on to be executed, it showed that Kim could influence the legal discourse.
Secondly, Kim’s words could be damaging given that the victims of this tragedy may not agree with what she has to say. Therefore, her comments could be seen as influencing a legal matter that she has no right to be involved in.
After all, her only credentials are the fact that she has passed one Bar exam, which is hardly enough to say that she is credible on this matter. And yet, for Kim, she continued to double down on her beliefs.
She added: “Four people died in this tragic accident. Rogel has a life sentence for the accident, which will not only destroy his life, but it will also impact his wife and son’s life… Makes me so sick.”
