Kim Kardashian has been praised after lending her support to Rogel Aguilera-Mederos, who had recently been given a 110-year sentence.
Kim Kardashian Praised For Supporting Rogel Aguilera-Mederos Following His 110-Year Sentence
Reports indicate that Rogel had been convicted after a crash led to the death of four people and others injured.
But given that he was not actually driving under the influence of any substance, in addition to the fact that it was claimed the brakes had failed on the vehicle, Kim felt that the punishment was very harsh in proportion to the action.
That is why she felt that her dabbling in the legal area meant she could have an influence on the case. In a statement at the time, she said: “Another shocking and unfair part of this case is that the judge didn’t want to sentence him to such a lengthy sentence.
“However, because of the mandatory minimums in Colorado, his hands were tied.” This support has been met well by Rogel’s legal team.
According to TMZ, his attorney Leonard Martinez has been grateful for the fact that Kim has been sticking her neck out and risking her reputation.
After all, she had faced hostility and ridicule when she first admitted that she wanted to pursue a serious career in the legal profession.
TMZ claims that “the legal team is very thankful Kim has lent her voice to the cause and understands how important it is to get the word out.”
While it is important to consider what Leonard has said, the very fact of the matter is that just because Kim has spoken out is not enough to say that she could actually make a difference.
Take for example, her intervention on the Brandon Bernard case. Kim had written a letter urging the authorities not to execute him, but sadly this would go on to go unnoticed as he was given the death penalty.
The only thing that people can do is let the justice system come to its conclusion. And unless Kim has an actual legal qualification, that being she is a qualified lawyer, then what she has to say may end up falling on deaf ears.
