‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) Is Back and Here To Stay – “I Just Want To Take It Down A New Road”

‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers find that John Black (Drake Hogestyn) could use all the help he can get his hands on when it comes to exorcising the Devil out of his wife, Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall).

Could he do better than the ex-priest son of the person whose body has been taken over by Satan himself? Yes, yes he can!

John seemed surprised yet relieved to see Eric on his doorstep in the closing minutes of Monday’s episode, but wait until he hears his stepson’s welcomed news- Eric has returned to the priesthood, therefore has a whole lot of clout with the Big Guy Upstairs!

‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) Is Back and Here To Stay – “I Just Want To Take It Down A New Road”

However, the welcomed news portrayer, Greg Vaughan, has brought with him to Salem is even better for fans- Eric (and Greg) is sticking around!

Unlike his last visit which lasted barely a week, Greg has told Soap Opera Digest that we will be in Salem for a while, and explained, “I’m revisiting the character, and putting the training wheels back on, seeing where he’s matured while dealing with the aftermath of Eric and Nicole [Walker’s -Arianne Zucker] marriage not working. I think there’s a lot of growth that’s taking shape, so he’s coming to make amends.”

In 2012 Greg took over the role of Eric from Jensen Ackles who was last seen in Salem a whopping twelve years prior. The 48-year-old actor says he’s looking forward to discovering the next chapter of Eric’s story with the viewers.

“I just want to take it down a new road,” he says. “I’m very curious. I’m really taking a different approach and just trying to see if I can navigate where his path leads him. I just want it to be interesting. DAYS has been such an integral part of who I am and I’m proud of what I’ve been able to do in my time here. It’s just been great and I’m really trying to show that there’s been a growth experience for Eric between where he was and where he is now.”

Part of that ‘now’ is Eric being a priest again, which came as a surprise to Greg. It also doesn’t give Ecole fans much hope of a reconciliation between the freshly divorced couple.

However, though their characters are no longer together, Greg assures fans he will be sharing the screen with Arianne, saying, “Once we come together, you know it’s going to be good. There’s going to be this magic, this little connection. It’s really like getting on a bike; it’s so easy. We get together and we don’t have to rehearse, so it’s just nice to be in her company. We have really great stuff together and it’s always lovely to do. I always look forward to it. It’s never a dull moment with her.”

We can’t wait!

Be sure to watch Eric back on Days of Our Lives, weekdays on NBC.
