British musician Craig David has admitted that there was an uneasy atmosphere when he performed for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle during their last appearance within the Royal family.
Musician Craig David Sensed ‘A Lot Of Tension’ In His Performance During Harry And Meghan’s Last Royal Appearance
This would be no surprise given what we now know. Clearly, Harry and Meghan were dissatisfied with the way in which things were going within the institution.
So much so that things played out dramatically in their joint interview with Oprah Winfrey, during which they claimed accusations of racism, as well as Meghan contemplating the thought of suicide.
Although the pair continued to put on a brave face, it looked as though Craig was not going to be fooled. After all, he is a seasoned performer and used to judging a crowd.
During an interview on the ‘Jonathan Ross Show,’ Craig said: “I performed at Westminster Cathedral. “[There was] a lot of tension going on at that period of time.
“Harry and Meghan were there. I went to sing for the Commonwealth celebrations.” Rather than let the atmosphere cloud his performance, Craig went on to embrace it.
He knew that there was pressure on him due to the fact that Queen Elizabeth II was also present. Therefore, any slip ups would not only have embarrassed him, but it could have potentially ended any further chance he had of performing for Royalty again.
That is why he kept his composure and made sure that he gave a performance to remember. By the looks of it, he had an impact on Harry and Meghan.
He added: “I always talk about how music is healing and a form of therapy. I could feel it cut through. There was a part where Harry looked up, Meghan looked up, I felt it really landed in their hearts.”
Craig has certainly had an experience to remember, but it is not clear whether these comments are going to endear him towards Harry and Meghan.
After all, they are unlikely to admit that something may have been wrong during this time. And in any event, given that some time has passed since the performance, it may not even be on their mind.
