The final verdict was given for Josh Duggar on Thursday afternoon and his family was shocked at what they heard. He was found guilty on the charges of possession of child pornography and no matter what, he still claims that he is innocent.
The jury made their final decision and the court will have to determine how large his fine is and how long he will serve time in prison. In the meantime, his family is starting to talk more about the verdict.
‘Counting On’ Spoilers: Jim Bob Duggar’s Statement Following Josh Duggar’s Guilty Verdict On Charges Of Possession Of Child Pornography
Michelle Duggar and Jim Bob Duggar were the first to make a statement on what has happened with their son. They told the press, “This entire ordeal has been very grievous. Today, God’s grace, through the love and prayers of so many, has sustained us. Our hearts and prayers are with anyone who has ever been harmed through Child Sexual Abuse Material.”
They went on, “In the days ahead, we will do all we can to surround our daughter-in-law, Anna, and their children with love and support. As parents, we will never stop praying for Joshua, and loving him, as we do all of our children. In each of life’s circumstances, we place our trust in God. He is our source of strength and refuge. Thank you for your prayers.”
There were several family members at his trial to show their support for him. Some of his family has given their statements on the verdict as well. Jill Duggar’s husband, Derick Dillard wanted to share his thoughts on the verdict as well.
He wrote on their family blog, “Today was difficult for our family. Our hearts go out to the victims of child abuse or any kind of exploitation. We are thankful for the hard work of law enforcement, including investigators, forensic analysts, prosecutors, and all others involved who save kids and hold accountable those responsible for their abuse. Nobody is above the law. It applies equally to everybody, no matter your wealth, status, associations, gender, race, or any other factor. Today, the people of the Western District of Aransas made that clear in their verdict.”
Anna Duggar was pretty stoic as the verdict was being read. There are sources that say that she has been torn apart behind closed doors though. Anna is now a mother of seven on her own with no husband to help take care of their family. She is going to struggle all because he wanted to look at children.
