The BBC has come under fire once again after one of their journalists, Amol Rajan apologised over comments he had made about the Royal family.

BBC Journalist Apologises For Reportedly Having Called Prince Philip A ‘Racist Buffoon’ And Prince Charles ‘Scientifically Illiterate’

The comments, which had allegedly occurred around a decade ago, have shown just how powerful the influence of cancel culture can be. After all, someone is being made to justify comments that they have made over a long period.

Clearly, perception can change with time, as well as the very simple fact that it is hard to recall one’s mindset over such a long period.

According to reports, Amol had decided to write an article centring around Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee in 2012. But as part of that piece, he ended up slamming two of the major Royal figures: the late Prince Philip and Prince Charles.

Amol had apparently referred to the former as a “racist buffoon.” Given that Philip is no longer alive, this has clearly touched a nerve. Meanwhile, it is alleged that he referred to Charles as a ‘scientifically illiterate’ man.

Therefore, as a way of preventing any further backlash, Amol has decided to hold his hands up and issue an apology. In a post on Twitter, he said: “I want to say I deeply regret it.

“I wrote things that were rude and immature, and I look back on them now with real embarrassment, and ask myself what I was thinking, frankly.”

In response, the BBC has not yet commented on the claims. This is understandable given that they were recently bashed by the Royal family over their coverage towards them. Therefore, this latest story is not going to endear the Royal family to them one bit.

Nevertheless, Amol has pulled out all the stops to try to make amends. He added: “I would like to say sorry for any offence they caused then or now.

“I’m completely committed to impartiality and hope our recent programmes can be judged on their merits.” It will be fascinating to see whether there will be any further repercussions from this or whether the Royal family will issue a statement in response.
