Can they continue the trend by deleting their Instagram accounts, too? There’s a new report that says both Alec Baldwin and his wife Hilaria Baldwin have deactivated their Twitter accounts following Alec’s trainwreck of an interview, in which he blamed Halyna Hutchins in her own shooting death.

Alec accidentally shot and killed the cinematographer with a prop gun on the set of the movie Rust back in October. Here’s what you need to know.

The actor’s main @alecbaldwin account — which he had used for years had been deleted by late Sunday. The actor’s @alecbaldwin__ Twitter account, also verified, is still functioning but the account has not tweeted since Oct. 19.

Other accounts that have gone dark or set to private include the account of the actor’s foundation (@ABFalecbaldwin) and his wife’s account (@HilariaBaldwin) restricting access to approved followers only since early November following Baldwin retweeting Rust crew member Terese Magpale Davis’ statement denying an unsafe work environment on the production.

In his first interview with Good Morning America, when asked if he felt guilty over Halyna’s death, he said, “No. No. I feel that… someone is responsible for what happened and I can’t say who that is, but I know it’s not me. Honest to God, if I felt that I was responsible, I might’ve killed myself if I thought that I was responsible. And I don’t say that lightly.”

He added that he dreams about the incident “constantly” and his career may well be over. “I couldn’t give a s**t about my career anymore,” he said.

If that weren’t enough, Alec said he cocked the gun, which means to hold the gun in position, that killed Hutchins but “didn’t pull the trigger.” He recalled that during the rehearsal, the film’s first assistant director, Dave Halls, handed him a revolver and told him “this is a cold gun” – an industry term for a weapon that is either empty or loaded with dummy rounds.
