Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Erika Jayne has had every second of her life scrutinized by “bulldog” lawyer, Ronald Richards for almost a year now. Richards and Jayne have sparred very publicly on social media after accusations were made of fraudulent transfers and embezzlements by her estranged husband, Tom Girardi in December 2020. Jayne has tried to get Richards removed from the case in the past and accused him of harassing her online.
After all the name-calling and flying accusations, those following the case were stunned when Richards suddenly removed himself from the case. More shocking still; Richards is now being accused of colluding with Erika Jayne the whole time!
‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’: Lawyer Investigating Erika Jayne Steps Down From Case Amid Accusations of Collusion!
The case against Girardi and Jayne is a complicated one, with several attorneys fighting from different angles. Richards was hired to investigate Erika, specifically the accusation that Girardi had funneled approximately $25 million from his now-defunct law firm- Girardi Keese into Jayne’s LLC. Meanwhile, a law firm called Edelson PC, headed by Jay Edelson is fighting the Girardi bankruptcy stay- which is inhibiting Richards’ look into whether Erika’s LLC was used to hide the illegally gotten funds and to fund her lavish lifestyle, among other investigations.
It seems the two attorneys should be working together as they had the same goal, however, Edelson is now taking aim at Richards, accusing him of being an aspiring “reality TV lawyer and social media influencer” and said he has been “flip-flopping” with Erika which is an “odd dynamic”.
Things between Richards and Jayne have settled in recent weeks and the two “foes” are working toward a resolution to the case. However, instead of assisting Edelson’s investigations, Richards is now refusing them access to Jayne’s finances, making it impossible for Edelson to continue their deep dive, effectively blocking creditors from pursuing the Pretty Mess author.
Richards has also allegedly threatened Edelson in what seems to be an effort to protect Erika, saying he wants to expose “damaging information” about the Edelson PC firm.
Richards fired back at Edelson’s claims, denying he made any threats towards the firm and insists he is simply doing his job correctly. Shortly after, he made his sudden statement that he is stepping away from the case. Richards claimed he was leaving the case due to the limitations imposed on him when it came to speaking publicly about the case. Edelson refutes Richard’s claim of “stepping away”, saying he was actually terminated.
With all of this in fighting, it is not looking good for the alleged victims of Tom Girardi, who has been accused of stealing the settlement money he had won for them in court for cases stemming from a pipeline explosion, faulty medical work, and the Lion Air crash in 2018.
We imagine, however, Bravo is loving that the case is continuing on. Erika Jayne’s legal woes bumped the ratings of RHOBH season 11 to the highest they have been in years. Production for season 12 began immediately after season 11 finished airing in an effort to capture all of the legal dramas surrounding Erika and her estranged husband, Tom.
At this rate we will still be watching the case unfold for season 13…and 14…and…
