Jeff Johnson, who appeared on Netflix’s docuseries ‘Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem, and Madness,” has died at the age of 59.
Johnson died from an apparent suicide during an argument with his wife, Charity.
The reptile dealer was interviewed in the fourth episode of the Netflix series. The police are reporting that officers were called to Johnson’s home after 10 p.m. on Sept. 8 for an attempted suicide. His wife, Charity, told authorities that her husband hilled himself in front of her during an argument in their garage. Their children, ages 4 and 5, were in the house during the time of the incident.
Netflix’s ‘Tiger King’ Jeff Johnson, Former Reptile Dealer, Dead After Apparent Suicide
Johnson was taken to a hospital shortly after he was found and still had a pulse at the scene. Though, he was pronounced dead at the hospital. This comes after another ‘Tiger King’ star, zookeeper Erik Cowie’s passing. Cowie was found dead on Sept. 3 in New York City.
The second season of the series came out November 17th as Joe ‘Joseph Maldonado-Passage’ Exotic is serving prison time for paying a hitman to kill Carole Baskin. He’s also claimed that the second season of the series will prove him to be innocent. He’s also requested that now President Joe Biden pardon him.
“President Donald Trump was a fool not to pardon me. Before the election, millions of people were hoping for it as they know I’m innocent, most of this is in TK2 [‘Tiger King 2’] and it will be the same for President Biden, the world will know the truth [when the new season is released] and him and VP [Kamala] Harris ran on justice and prison reform.”
At the moment, it’s unclear why Johnson killed himself, as it’s also been reported that he had “no history of mental health issues.”
We wish Johnson’s family well, and may he rest in peace.
