If you’ve got nothing to watch this weekend, we’ve got a great recommendation for you. “Malfunction: The Dressing Down of Janet Jackson,” is now streaming on Hulu, as the New York Times documentary takes a closer look to exactly what happened that night Janet Jackson’s career was all but destroyed. Here’s what you need to know.

The doc looks at the 2004 Super Bowl halftime show, which saw Justin Timberlake briefly expose Jackson’s breast to millions of viewers. Jackson’s career never recovered but Timberlake went from strength to strength. Janet  Jackson performed live with Jessica Simpson and Justin Timberlake, who ripped Jackson’s outfit at the end of their duet.

Critics believe the act, deemed a wardrobe malfunction, was actually a misogynistic attack on Jackson’s career.

“’Malfunction: The Dressing Down of Janet Jackson’ features rare footage and interviews with several people who were at the controls that night in Houston — including NFL and MTV executives — to reconstruct an incident that shook the country and explains how it shaped culture in the decades to follow,” the synopsis of the 10-episode docuseries states. “With new reporting by the Times, as well as insights from music industry insiders, cultural critics, and members of the Jackson family, the film illuminates the extraordinary fallout, CBS executive Les Moonves’ role, and Justin Timberlake’s parallel career rise.”

What’s more, the documentary will examine the racial and cultural currents that collided on the Super Bowl stage and explores how the incident impacted one of the most successful pop musicians in history.
