In a hearing that took only 30 minutes, Judge Brenda Penney declared that the conservatorship that has held Britney Spears, the Princess of Pop, captive for 13 years is now “no longer required”. What does this mean for Britney Spears?
It means that she is finally free of anyone’s control, it means that everyone who participated in the #FreeBritney movement is now vindicated in the knowledge that their favorite pop star is free to live her life once more. Aside from all the warm fuzzies us late 90’s kids are feeling, let’s break it down here, what does all that really mean? Well, for starters Britney can now drive her own car.
Britney Spears is officially free!
Sure, she has hinted at driving her own care in the past couple of months but now she can really embrace the open road on her own terms without having to potentially answer to anyone except for the law themselves about where or how she drives.
Since she has already talked about safe driving on her IG page we can guess that Britney won’t be doing anything foolish with this opportunity any time soon. She is also free to post whatever she likes on social media without someone potentially breathing down her neck about it. No more mental evaluations for Britney, and we can only thank God for that.
With the conservatorship gone this means that she can manage her own money the way she wants to. There had been tales previously of her wanting nice things, like a chanel purse or expensive makeup and her Dad denying it because he claimed she didn’t have enough money. There was also the embarrassing tale of her being out at a dinner with co-workers from X-factor and not being able to foot her half of the bill because she was only allowed so much every week in “allowance”.
Now she doesn’t have to worry about that, let’s hope she treats herself to a nice dinner out somewhere – or heck, postmates some pizza at least! Its about time she got to do exactly what she wanted to do with her own money.
This also means that if she chooses to return to the music scene she is the one that is going to make the decisions about when and where to perform, she might decide to do a Vegas tour or she might decide to do a whole session of just instagram lives, either way, her performances are her own now. Not controlled by a bunch of other people, that means she can go at her own pace and embrace what she loved to do once more, or she can totally do the other thing that she wanted to do and…
Britney has been forced on birth control for the past 13 years when all she has really wanted to do was have another baby and be the Mom that she always wanted to be.
Her sons were stripped from her when they were very young and in 2015 she had to end up doing a 70/30 custody split with ex-husband Kevin Federline because of an altercation that went down between one of her sons and the elder Jamie Spears. However, now she can see her boys more often and perhaps she can have the child she always wanted with new current flame, Sam Asghari.
