Tori Spelling has been looking back at her friendship with her former Beverly Hills 90210 Luke Perry.

Tori Spelling Recalls How Her Late Beverly Hills 90210 Co-Star Luke Perry Saved Her From An Abusive Relationship

Luke, for his part, is no longer here as he passed away at the age of 52 in 2019 following a stroke. But given that they were such good friends, not just on the TV set, they formed a bond that will live long in the memory.

And it was during some of Tori’s darkest moments that Luke stepped up to the plate. That is why she continues to have fond memories of him.

During an interview on the ‘Whine Down podcast‘, Tori spoke on how Luke saved her from an abusive relationship. She said: “He went to brawl literally for me.

“I was in a verbally abusive relationship and sat and talked me thru the most insecure moments of a teen angst girls life.”

Clearly, this was more than a friendship, even if Tori refuses to let on. Very few people would go out of their way to protect someone unless they really cared for them.

Although nothing may have happened between the pair, it is safe to say that Luke’s behaviour demonstrated something that was more than a friendship.

Tori added: “I was in a verbally abusive relationship when I was 19. Yeah, Luke hated him…At my parents’ Christmas Eve party one year, he was there and saw this ex-boyfriend, and they got into it.”

Despite Luke’s heroics, Tori initially took it the wrong way. She was outraged that Luke showed her up during the Christmas holidays at her parents’ house. Therefore, she was no longer on speaking terms with him for some time.

But through it all, she realised that his intentions were pure, but not before they had a verbal argument over it. She continued: “I was 19, so I was mad at him instead of realising, in hindsight, that this guy loved me and was like, ‘I don’t care.

“I’m gonna go to bat for her. He was a great friend.” If Tori had more friends like Luke, she could avoid many destructive relationships that she has had to go through.
