Timothée Chalamet has responded to the allegations that were made about Armie Hammer’s sexual misconduct with numerous women.
Timothée Chalamet Refuses To Answer Questions About Armie Hammer’s Sexual Misconduct Allegations
The duo worked together on the film entitled ‘Call Me By Your Name.’ While Armie’s career has suffered since then, with numerous directors choosing to shun the actor, Timothée’s insight could have proved valuable as to whether Armie ever showed any signs of this kind of behaviour on set.
Sadly, though, Timothée remained very coy about the topic. During an interview with Time, he said: “I totally get why you’re asking that.
“But it’s a question worthy of a larger conversation, and I don’t want to give you a partial response.” While Timothée’s answer is understandable, given that he does not want to draw himself into a scandal that is already controversial, his answer does not help Armie himself.
From the outset, Armie has denied that he had raped anyone. Instead, he has chosen to say that any acts that were committed were done with the full consent of the women involved.
And yet, these legal allegations continue to plague the actor and his wider family. In a prior statement given to TMZ, Armie stated: “In light of the vicious and spurious online attacks against me, I cannot in good conscience now leave my children for four months to shoot a film in the Dominican Republic.”
The consequences for the actor continued to follow. He made the decision to enter into a rehabilitation centre. It is not clear for what reason he entered into it, but the consensus seems to be that Armie wanted to resolve any drug and alcohol issues that he was going through.
And he is hoping that by doing so, he can counter the false stories that are being put out by others. Armie’s lawyer confirmed as much: “With the truth on his side, Mr Hammer welcomes the opportunity to set the record straight.”
Things are not looking good for Armie, as even his work colleagues refuse to back him. With that in mind, the only thing we can do is wait for the outcome of the legal case.
