Actor Ian A. Hudson, who happened to be playing an outlaw on the set of the film ‘Rust, has revealed how he felt scared during his shoot out scenes.

Another Actor From The Set Of Rust Claims That The Cameras Were Protected More Than The Crew

This revelation draws the spotlight further on the safety that was present, as Alec Baldwin’s gun prop shooting incident led to the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injuring director Joel Souza.

And given what we know now, there are huge question marks over whether someone should be held responsible for this. When speaking to TMZ, Ian said: “I would talk to my fellow cast members afterwards.

“We would talk about how intense that was, how scary and surreal [gun scene] that was.” Although a gun scene is expected to get everyone feeling intense, the fact that the actors were not protected enough started to get Ian worried.

He spoke on how there was a much bigger emphasis on making sure that the cameras on set were protected rather than the other crew members. If that was the case, then there is the potential of huge negligence.

This is especially true as Ian admitted that he and other crew members remembered the death of Brandon Lee, who had also died from a gun shooting incident, as they were worried about something similar happening.

Ian added: “We’re doing it the same way they did it than 30 years ago. Gotta double-check. Gotta make sure.” Nevertheless, Ian did not raise his concerns to the point where it would cause a scene.

This was based on the fact that he was not a household name. Therefore, any grievances he would have raised may not have been talked about.

His following comments confirmed as much: “[The experience felt] life-threatening. But [I] ‘held [my] tongue… as [we did not] want to cause trouble.”

This story shows us the importance of allowing actors to speak out without fear of anything happening to them. If we had a culture along these lines, then perhaps it would prevent such tragedies from happening. This is something that has to change within the film industry going forward.
