There’s nothing like a fickle moment to make someone question their motives, and Malverde El Santo Patrón Spoilers thinks this is happening to Eleuterio Rivas (Ramón Medina). At least, to a point.
There’s plenty to unpack between motivations, actions, and guesswork so we’re going to be digging in with some fun speculation on this one.
Herminio Quiñones (Luis Felipe Tovar) is in charge and he knows it, and more importantly he lets everyone else know it.
Eleuterio is his right hand man and ensure Herminio’s wishes are carried out, like assassinating the Governor, beating up innocent villagers, amassing a private army, and following Azalea Quiñones (Candela Márquez) around to make sure she’s “safe”.
Now, Eleuterio is being assigned to have her followed so she can spy on the Aguilars, but there’s a twist.
Malverde El Santo Patrón Spoilers: Imposing presence backfires
While Eleuterio loves his work and being the muscle behind the throne, it became obvious that on some level he cares about Azalea.
So, after she told Herminio that Eleuterio scares her and he conveyed that to his enforcer and told him that’s how it’s supposed to be Eleuterio looked disappointed and maybe a little upset.
While having an imposing presence is important to him when doing certain tasks, he may not like having her feel threatened by him.
It makes sense, but can he really turn it off? And given what she probably imagines he did at this point or another would it matter if he does?
While Eleuterio will be trying to figure out how to handle his role with this new batch of information, it could make him hesitate at some point.
Malverde El Santo Patrón Spoilers: Weakening support
While we doubt Eleuterio will ever turn on Herminio, unless he finds him about to kill Azalea, there is the possibility Herminio slowly starts losing himself in his quest for power.
This may make Eleuterio question what’s happening and he could see Herminio for what he is and try to help him in a different way.
He may be less brutal toward some, while more so with others. Or we could be wrong and he’ll openly revolt.
Herminio is already facing stiffening resistance from Father Hilario (Humberto Elizondo), so it makes sense that something will happen to further weaken his resolve.
The arrival of the military governor will be another obstacle to be overcome, and Herminio will dump more than expected into Eleuterio’s plate.
Will there be a breaking point for Eleuterio? Let us know in the comments below and check back with Malverde El Santo Patrón Spoilers for the latest updates, spoilers, and speculation around.
