Lori Loughlin is getting set to head back to set. In her first acting gig since she was released from prison due to her part in the college admissions scandal, Lori will be reprising her role as Abigail Stanton. Instead of returning to her old show, When Calls the Heart, Lori will be bringing Abigail to the spin-off series, When Hope Calls.

After six seasons, Lori’s character was written off When Calls the Heart after her indictment in the scandal.

At that time, a statement from Crown Media Family Networks was put out saying, “We are no longer working with Lori Loughlin and have stopped development of all productions that air on the Crown Media Family Network channels involving Lori Loughlin including Garage Sale Mysteries, an independent third party production.”

In the beloved series, Abigail was said to have left Hope Valley to care for her ailing mother “back east”.

However, now the 57 year old will bring her character back to the upcoming season 2 premiere of When Hope Calls: A Country Christmas, airing just in time for the holidays on December 18.

“Lori can’t wait to get back to work, she has been waiting a long time to get back on set,” an insider said, speaking to Us magazine. “Lori is looking forward to the future and is ready to get back to filming When Hope Calls.”

It is also said Lori has sorely missed the rest of her cast and crew and is champing at the bit to return to acting. The insider further claimed the Full House alum is “passionate” about the spin-off.

Lori is not the only family member stepping back into the spotlight. 22 year old Olivia Jade, Lori’s daughter is now appearing on season 30 of Dancing with the Stars.

A rumor recently surfaced that Olivia was given a deal that would see her through the first three eliminations at least, but this was shut down by ABC reality chief, Robert Mills who tweeted about the fabrication, “This is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. The show is a competition and as such is subject to legal and broadcast standard regulations.”
