Joe Rogan has spoken out about his friend and fellow comedian Dave Chappelle’s new Netflix comedy special with Michael Malice. When asked if Joe had spoken to Chappelle at all, Rogan began with, “he’s not a homophobic or transphobic person,” he continued, “here’s the problem with today, if you don’t have an enemy, you make an enemy, and this is a real problem with people.”

He continued to go on about the difference between your actual feelings and thoughts and jokes. Jokes are for fun, and to make people laugh and they don’t reflect your personal opinions as a person.

Joe Rogan Comments On Dave Chappelle’s Netflix Special And Controversy – “He’s Not A Transphobic Person”

On Chappelle himself, Rogan explained that he’s a sweet and caring person who doesn’t hate anyone.

“If you get down to Dave Chappelle’s real feelings, he’s a lovely person. He’s one of the nicest people I’ve ever met in my life. He loves everybody. He’s not a hateful soul, he’s just a guy who loves this art form called stand up comedy and he tries to do his best navigating through this world of talking shit about things and saying outrageous things that get huge laughs or placating really sensitive groups that feel like they’re in a protected class.”

Chappelle’s recent special is still undergoing extreme controversy due to the nature of his transgender jokes and stories that some people feel like he crossed a line. Some Netflix employees have even planned a walkout to occur over it, but the CEO has defended Chappelle and his right to say what he pleases.

After watching the entire thing multiple times, I have to say it doesn’t feel like Chappelle hates transgenders at all but rather wants to be able to joke and play around as he does with literally everyone else. White, black, gay, straight, rich, poor, it doesn’t matter what class or identity you claim, you should be able to laugh at yourself once in a while and even joke with others.

What do you think? Are you a fan of Dave Chappelle and what did you think of his new comedy special on Netflix? Let us know in the comments below.
